There’s something special about fall — the crisp air, the crunch of leaves underfoot, and that irresistible urge to gather outside before winter settles in. This season, we wanted to create a spot that embraces those golden-hour evenings, warm fires, and slow-swing relaxation. And this DIY pergola swing setup is exactly that.
Welcome to our newest backyard favorite: a custom cedar tone pergola with hanging hammock chairs, built-in tables with covered box storage and firewood rack — situated right in front of the fire pit.

The Vision
We wanted:
A relaxing hangout zone for adults and kids alike
A structure that blends naturally into the yard
A spot that feels cozy, functional, and beautiful year-round
A welcoming space centered around connection and comfort
The result is a simple yet statement-making pergola that frames two swing chairs—perfect for curling up with a blanket and a drink while the fire pit crackles.
Design Details
Material: Cedar tone treated lumber
Features:
Built-in tables on both sides
Built-in storage
Decorative pergola beams to add height, charm, and structure
The open-air design keeps the view of the yard and trees unobstructed, letting the fall color really shine.
Why We Love It
Comfort + Function: Chairs that swing + space for guests = the best of both worlds.
Four Seasons Friendly: Whether roasting marshmallows in fall or reading a book in summer, this setup works all year.
Storage Solved: Extra firewood stays close at hand and dry, and hidden bench storage keeps things tidy.
Instant Backyard Upgrade: It feels like backyard resort meets cozy cabin vibes.
